Hakgok Browser privacy policy

Privacy and Security is always our priority to protect our users

Protecting your privacy is a primary responsibility at Hakgok Technologies. Any and all personal information you supply to us while using Hakgok products and services is securely protected. We do not share or sell information to other parties, and we take steps to secure any user data from disclosure, with the exception of genuine law enforcement agencies who have obtained a court order.

Type and purpose of data collected by Hakgok:

Each installation profile is given a unique user ID that is saved on your computer when you install Hakko Browser. Every 24 hours, Hakgok will send an HTTPS message to our servers including this ID, version, CPU architecture, screen resolution, and time since last message. After eliminating the last octet of the IP address from your Hakgok client, we store the determined approximate location after conducting a local geoip lookup. The goal of this data collecting is to figure out how many active users there are and where they live.

In the browser default bookmarks, Hakgok offers numerous links to websites. Some of those websites are Hakgok partners, while others are not. Those bookmark partners pay Hakgok a percentage of the revenue. That is how we can continue to give our consumers free software while being amazing! Regardless of whether we earn any compensation, we strive hard to only feature bookmarks that are useful to our users. On their websites, several of these content providers use cookies (as mentioned below). Of course, if you wish, you can remove any or all of the bookmarks.

Your browsing history, including URLs visited, search terms typed, and information downloaded, is saved in your client profile and is only accessible by you. This information is not available to Hakgok. Your past can only be shared if you take the initiative.

Hakgok has a built-in password manager that saves your login credentials for sites where you've activated the option by choosing to save your credentials in Hakgok's password manager. Your data is encrypted if the framework supports encryption, and Hakgokuses password storage frameworks offered by the operating system on your computing device.

How do we learn information about you?

We learn information about you when:

  • You provide it directly to us (for example, when you choose to email us crash reports)
  • We collect it automatically as part of our products and services (for example, when your Hakgok browser checks with us to see if it is up to date)
  • Someone else provides us with information about you (for example, when Thunderbird sets up your email account with your email provider)
  • When we try to learn more about you using the information you've provided (e.g., when we use your IP address to customize language for some of our services)

Type and purpose of data collected by third party vendors:

When you enable Search suggestions in Settings (Settings > Search), Hakgok will send a request to the selected search engine with the input query to display search results.
Hakgok incorporates Google's Safe Browsing API on the desktop, which compares the site you're visiting to a master list of known phishing and malware sites. In the Privacy settings (Settings > Privacy > Privacy), you can disable this feature.

We employ Google's form autofill technology, which speeds up the process of filling out online forms. Autofill is enabled by default, and it may be turned off at any moment via Hakgok's settings in the desktop browser. This function does not transfer any personal data to Google. This is also something we're working on in Hakgok for Android.

Many websites use cookies to identify repeat visitors and store information about their site visitors. Hakgok stores cookies based on the user’s privacy settings (Setting > Privacy > Cookies) but how the cookie is used is determined by the website you are visiting and types of cookies. Therefore it is important that you understand the privacy policy of the websites you are visiting. You can view, manage and remove all stored cookies in your privacy settings.

If you use Hakgok Mail or Calendar to access your Gmail or Google Calendar, Hakgok will follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use Requirements, when using information obtained via Google APIs.
